Blue Java Coffee Whole Beans 250 grams

Crema's Blue Java coffee is a full-bodied and aromatic coffee that tastes fresh and fruity. Sweet with notes of dark chocolate, spice, and earthy tones. A good balance between bitterness and sweetness.

These are whole beans but are also sold filter-ground.

The Dutch brought the coffee plant to Java over 300 years ago. The original Blawan plantation was founded in the 18th century, and some varieties of the plant are still grown today in the same area. Jampit, Pancour, Kayumas, and Tugosari are also cultivated in this region, where the coffee grows in nutrient-rich volcanic soil and under large shade trees.

The coffee is hand-picked by the local community, many of whom live in villages located within the farm itself. Only ripe berries are selected for pulping (removal of the pulp), fermentation, and washing before being sun-dried. The coffee beans are then hand-sorted by an army of women who meticulously remove damaged beans.
